The KNM exam: what you see on the screen — KNM A2
This orientation lesson explains what you see on the screen at the DUO test centre, so you know exactly how to answer. Every screen shows one static picture, a short text in Dutch, and exactly three answer options (A, B, and C).
How questions are grouped
Questions are grouped into eight official themes. Before a new group starts, you see an intro screen like De volgende vragen gaan over het thema Wonen (The following questions are about the theme: Housing). Use that screen to focus on the right subject area.
Knowledge, not behaviour
The KNM exam tests objective knowledge — not personal behaviour. DUO does not ask what you would do or what your opinion is. The questions test official Dutch laws, rules, and institutions, with phrases like Wat is juist? (What is correct?), Mag dit volgens de wet? (Is this allowed by law?), or Welke instantie regelt dit? (Which institution handles this?). Always pick the formal rule or the correct institution, not a personal preference.
