The Form: Personal Data and the Explanation Box — Writing A2
When you encounter a form task, you face two distinct challenges.
Persoonsgegevens: accuracy is everything
The first part asks for your Persoonsgegevens (personal details). The grading rule here is strict: accuracy is everything. Making a spelling error in your own street name, your nationality, or your city signals an A1 level and will severely damage your score. Always double-check your capital letters and make sure your Geboortedatum is formatted clearly.
Toelichting: the open-box trap
The second part of the form usually contains an open box labeled Toelichting or Reden van aanmelding. This is a major trap. Because it looks like a simple form field, you might be tempted to just write a few loose words or a list. Do not do this. You are required to write complete sentences.
Treat this open box like a very short email. If the form asks why you are registering, answer with a full subject and verb. Covering this box correctly in hele zinnen is necessary to pass the task.
