How we write, and who wrote it.
Every article on this site carries the same byline, and this page is what that byline means. It covers where the facts come from, who checks the result, and what to do when we get something wrong.
Five steps, no black box.
The topic comes from a real search
Article subjects are chosen from Search Console queries and from the questions candidates actually ask, not from a keyword tool's volume column. If nobody is asking it, we do not write it.
The facts come from the exam spec
Everything about exam format, scoring and procedure is grounded in DUO's own published material and our per-section research notes. Where a claim cannot be traced to a source, it does not go in.
Nothing is written from a blank page
Every article is drafted against that research rather than from memory, so the Dutch, the examples and the exam-format claims all trace back to something we can point at.
It is checked before it is published
Drafts are reviewed against the exam specification and a fixed rubric: Dutch accuracy, level appropriateness, exam-format claims, and whether the writing reads like a person wrote it. Drafts that fail are rewritten or dropped.
Published posts get revisited
Articles are re-edited after publication: prose is tightened, internal links are added to the relevant lesson or practice page, and anything the exam has changed is corrected. The date on the article reflects the last real edit.
The limits, stated up front.
We are not DUO, and not affiliated with them
inburgeringprep.com is an independent prep platform. Nothing here is an official DUO publication, and the exam board does not endorse or review it. For binding information about your own obligation, deadline or exemption, DUO and your gemeente are the authorities.
No individual is credited as the author
These articles are produced by the editorial operation rather than by one named teacher, so the byline names the organisation. We would rather show you an accurate byline than invent a person to sit above it.
This is not legal, medical or financial advice
Our KNM articles explain how Dutch systems work because the exam asks about them. That is background knowledge, not advice about your situation. For decisions about your health, your benefits or your rights, talk to a professional.
Found something wrong?
Exam rules change and we get things wrong. If an article contradicts what DUO told you, or the Dutch in an example is off, tell us and we will fix the article rather than quietly leave it. Corrections are made in place, and the article’s updated date moves with them.
