Common questions

How does the Dutch writing scorer work?

Pick one of 10 real A2 tasks, write your short text in Dutch, and an AI examiner scores it the way the inburgeringsexamen does: did you complete the task, and is your grammar, vocabulary and spelling good enough to be understood? You get an overall percentage, four sub-scores, specific corrections, and a model answer to compare against.

What does the A2 writing exam actually ask for?

The schrijven part of the A2 inburgeringsexamen asks you to fill in a form and write a few short texts — usually an email or message about an everyday situation, like making an appointment, replying to an advertisement, or sending a short message to someone you know. You are marked mostly on whether you complete the task in understandable Dutch, not on perfect grammar.

How can I write a good short email in Dutch?

Start with a greeting (Geachte heer/mevrouw for formal, Hoi/Beste for informal), say clearly why you are writing, give the necessary details, and close politely (Met vriendelijke groet). Keep sentences short, answer every part of the task, and don't try to be too fancy — clear and complete beats long and error-filled.

Is it free and private?

Yes, the tool is free and needs no login. Your text is sent to the AI examiner only to score it and is not stored. If you want the full writing exam with timing and progress tracking, plus the other four sections, you can practise that inside the app.
