What you need before you can register
DUO handles registration, payment, scheduling and results for Staatsexamen NT2 Programma I. If you are on the B1 route, your PIP shows that this is the exam you need. Registration for Programma II (B2) works the same way.
Decide which parts you want to book: Lezen, Luisteren, Schrijven and/or Spreken. You can register for several parts at the same time. You cannot register for a part you are already booked for, or for a part whose result you are still waiting for.
If you are an inburgering candidate, Mijn DUO shows straight away whether you have a free attempt or can pay from your loan. You do not need to arrange that separately.
Searching for staatsexamen inschrijven? In Dutch, inschrijven and aanmelden both mean signing up. DUO uses aanmelden.
Booking through DUO
For staatsexamen nt2 aanmelden, the steps are:
- Go to DUO's Staatsexamen NT2 page.
- Sign in to Mijn DUO with DigiD, or use DUO's route without DigiD.
- Choose Programma I and select the exam part or parts you want.
- Choose an available exam date and city.
- Pay with iDEAL, or choose to pay by invoice.
After payment, DUO processes your booking. Your official oproepbrief arrives about 10 days before the exam, with the exact place and time. Has it not arrived 10 days before your exam? Contact DUO by e-mail at nt2@duo.nl.
Exam dates and locations
Staatsexamen NT2 Programma I has fixed exam dates. Registration opens about 8 weeks before the exam date. The full timetable is the examenrooster on the official Staatsexamens NT2 site. You choose from the available dates when you register.
There are six exam cities:
- Amsterdam
- Eindhoven
- Rijswijk
- Rotterdam
- Utrecht
- Zwolle
On the day itself, be there 30 minutes early and bring valid ID. Without ID you cannot take part, and late candidates are refused.
Worried about the computer system? Try the official Facet practice environment first. It uses the same exam player as the real test.
Changing or cancelling a booking
If you cancel up to 4 weeks before the exam, you get your money back. If you cancel later, you still pay. If you miss the exam, you may register again from the next day if places are available.
Were you ill, or was there a death in your immediate family? You can report this up to 10 days after the exam, with evidence. DUO then decides whether a replacement exam is possible.
Need an adapted exam, such as extra time? Request it when you register.
One planning point catches many candidates. You cannot book the same part again while you wait for the result, and results appear in Mijn DUO after about 5 weeks. Leave enough time for that in your study plan.
